Treatment Approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common type of talk therapy. Working with Christy in a structured way, attending a limited number of sessions. CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
EMDR Trauma Therapy & Dialectical Behavior Therapy
EMDR therapy is based on the idea that negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are the result of unprocessed memories. The treatment involves standardized procedures that include focusing on (a) spontaneous associations of traumatic images, thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations and (b) bilateral stimulation that is most commonly in the form of repeated eye movements.
Insight Oriented Therapy
The goal of insight-oriented therapy is to help clients understand how past experiences can affect their current behavior. It is my role to help clients understand how their current life problems may be connected with this internal conflict, often by exploring the client's past experiences and identifying certain patterns or themes.
